While in Las Vegas recently for the Affiliate Summit West Conference, I had the opportunity to visit Buddy V’s Ristorante at the Venetian. Being a huge “Cake Boss” fan, I was so excited not only to see their new bakery but to visit their fabulous restaurant.
My first impression of the restaurant was that it felt like “home”. The decor stayed true to the feel and the ambiance they were trying to create-with brick walls, kitchen whisks hanging from the ceiling, bundt cakes on the walls, and candlelight, it really did feel like having a nice family meal at home.
The staff was attentive and took the time to discuss the menu with us. And they resupplied us with their amazing foccaccia bread-you know if the first thing you taste is that amazing that you are in for a good meal! Seriously, I’m a huge bread lover, and if I had that at home, I’d never lose weight! It was a carb lover’s fantasy.
Now, on to the food! First up, the appetizers.
1. Buddy’s Salami and Cheese Board
2. Aunt Nina’s Mozzarella En Carozza
3. Charred Octopus
4. My Wife’s Eggplant Parm
The salami and cheese board alone was so good-the combination of cheese, pickled onions, olives and other vegetables, and the Italian meats was a feast in and of itself! And if you’re a fan of grilled cheese, the Aunt Nina’s Mozzarella En Carozza is the perfect appetizer for you. It’s an Italian version and much more sophisticated-I don’t think I will ever eat grilled cheese the same!
Next, the main course. My favorite was the Chicken Marsala-I almost licked the plate clean!
5. Valastro Sunday Gravy
6. Chicken Marsala
7. Nonna’s Lasagna Al Forno
8. Carmelized Sea Scallops
And to top it all off, we were treated to the most amazing desserts. This time around, one of us did lick the plate clean!
9. Lisa’s Warm Nutella Cake with Salted Caramel Ice Cream
10. Italian Birthday Cake
11. Buddy V’s XL Lobster Tail
We had such a wonderful time there. They didn’t rush us, and we were able to eat until we couldn’t possibly down another bite! The chef came out to talk and talk a picture with us, and the manager is a class act. Buddy V’s really did live up to being a great, family friendly environment with comfort food that will leave your stomach and mind contented and happy. It should definitely be on your list of places to try the next time you are in Vegas.
