My office/craft room has always been the dumping place for all of my stuff, as well as our financial files, kid pictures, information, etc. And my craft stash continues to grow as I can never use my supplies fast enough before getting more goodies! It’s just too fun. Anyway, I’ve been using a fold out table as my crafting area and it’s honestly been roughed up. It has splatters of paint, glue, marker, etc all over it! I’ve been wanting a way to cover it but never knew just what to do. Enter the Dollar Store. While there getting some other things, I happened to pass by their shelf/drawer liners and noticed something new.
They now have vinyl liners that adhere to surfaces, clean easily, and can be removed. And it came in several different patterns! Score! The green matched what I’m trying to do with the decor (it’s coming along very slowly), and I snagged some up. I used two rolls and it fit just right (it needed an extra little strip for the trimmed off portions for the side against the wall).
My poor, poor messy room!
Look what I’ve done to my table!
The directions are on the back of the vinyl and it’s pretty easy to put on. I did have a little issue with the second piece because the backing didn’t want to come off for me. I had to add it to remove it in small strips. Also, when I wrapped the underside of the side, the vinyl wouldn’t stay put. So I improvised and added packing tape to help keep it down.
Other than that, it was easy and my poor little table looks much better now. This vinyl cover will be fun to use to cover party tables, furniture, walls, whatever! I love the Dollar store. For $2, I covered my table and I won’t mind taking it off when it gets sad and replacing it with new covers.
