The best part of fall is pumpkin!!! Wouldn’t you agree? I love the smells and how creative you can be when adding pumpkin to everyday foods. The spices are so aromatic too-cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and ginger… Oh, it’s heavenly! And that’s why this Pumpkin Butter is the perfect fall condiment.
I couldn’t resist trying this recipe out, especially because I love using my Slow Cooker this time of year. If you don’t have a programmable Slow Cooker, I highly recommend it. I love that it takes the hassle of making sure you unplug your crockpot when the recipe is finished cooking. When the time is up, it automatically changes the setting to warm. This is the Slow Cooker that I use.
This recipe is really easy. It’s great on pretty much anything you can think of and is really cute packaged up pretty for neighbors or for a fun Thanksgiving favor for your guests to take home.
I can’t wait to put a dollop on top of some vanilla ice cream with a little bit of cinnamon. Yum!!
As an extra bonus, you can fold the mix into some whipped butter as the perfect addition to Thanksgiving rolls. Be sure to use real butter and whip it up nicely for the perfect pumpkin whipped butter!
One of the tricks when making this pumpkin butter is to cook it for 2 hours and then another 2 without the lid. Spoon it into jars, top with lids, and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
If you’re gifting them, bake up a yummy loaf of bread or homemade rolls and be your friends and neighbors hero!
Try not to eat this with a spoon right from the crockpot. It’s so good! Smells just like pumpkin pie. (I may or may not have licked the spoon…)

Slow Cooker Pumpkin Butter
- 4 cups Pumpkin Puree One large can of pumpkin works too
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup real maple syrup
- 1 Tbsp pumpkin pie spice
Combine all ingredients in slow cooker. Mix well. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours. Remove cover and stir. Cook another 2-3 hours until you reach desired consistency.
When it's finished, whip desired amount of butter in a mixer. Add in pumpkin butter and whip more. If you'd like it to have ribbons, whip the butter and then fold in the pumpkin butter.
May also be served alone over pancakes, toast, or anything you can think of!
