Scrapbook USA is coming! I can’t believe it’s going to be here so soon. I can’t wait to see all of the great vendors and take some awesome classes! If you haven’t been before, you should definitely grab some girlfriends and take some “me” time. Here’s one of my latest projects from a favorite at the Scrapbook USA Expo, Basic Gray.
If you have seen my projects before, you know I’m a sucker for the Dollar Store. I usually go there just to see what I could find that could be made into something useful. And the frames are my favorite!
I happened upon these mirrors one day. Yep, there were mirrors. I’m not sure why anyone would want a mirror that was divided like that but they were the perfect inspiration for some instagram frames. They had the squares already to go for me!
The frames came black and had a mirror in front of that cardboard piece. I’m not sure what to do with the mirror pieces, but I have some ideas. I painted teh frames and allowed the black to come through. And then I used the cardboard as my backing for the scrapbook paper I wanted to use. I used 4×4 sized Instagram pictures from Persnickety Prints (my favorite!).
I used an amazing new line from Basic Gray called “Spice Market”.
I put the scrapbook paper over the entire cardboard back with my tape adhesive and then fit the pictures in after lining it up with the frame. After that, I added embellishments from the 12×12 sticker sheet. It was so easy and quick! And now I have a fun way to display my instagram pics.
