At this point in the holiday season, I start to panic a little. Why? Because after I’ve checked off presents for my kids, my husband, and close family and friends, I realize that I have left off some other important people like my kids’ teachers, neighbors, our mail woman (we love her!), and people I work with in my church organization. Every year I vow I won’t forget gifts for them and I always do until the very end!
Thankfully, there are ways to put a quick gift together that is thoughtful and merry. Rubbermaid TakeAlongs are the perfect containers for gifting a yummy holiday treat! Pair them with a fun printable and some twine and you’ve got yourself a beautiful gift that is tasty and shows your appreciation.
Rubbermaid has been a trusted household name for over 80 years and their food storage products have been helping to make the holidays a sucess for just as long. Rubbermaid TakeAlongs come in a variety of convenient sizes and shapes to help transport whatever it is you’re looking to celebrate and share this holiday season, like this recipe for Orange Chocolate Spice Mini Bundt Cakes!
To create your own delectable gift, head to your nearest Walmart. They have a variety of TakeAlongs in fun prints and colors including Red, Green, and holiday prints. You can literally gift any kind of treat, including deviled eggs with the different shapes and sizes they have including TakeAlongs Deep Square, TakeAlongs Serving Bowl, TakeAlongs Serving Rectangle, TakeAlongs Rectangle, and the Deviled Egg Tray. For this gift, I used the TakeAlongs Rectangle and TakeAlongs Deep Square.
Once I had the Rubbermaid TakeAlongs, it was time to whip up something sweet to put in them! I love how cute mini bundt cakes are and I couldn’t resist using them for our gifts. This recipe is easy but it tastes gourmet!
Here’s what you need for your mini bundt cakes.
1 box chocolate cake mix
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup mini chocolate chips
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 tsp orange juice
1/4 tsp sugar
white chocolate chips
holiday sprinkles
Add cinnamon, ginger, and ground cloves to the dry cake mix. Make cake mix according to directions.
Spray mini bundt pan well with nonstick cooking spray, being sure to get in each groove. Fill mini bundt pan, only filling each cavity halfway. Bake at 350 degrees for 14-17 minutes, until firm and lightly brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Pop out mini bundts when cool.
Heat orange juice and sugar in small pan over high heat. Poke holes in the tops of mini bundt cakes and pour orange juice mixture over each one. Cool.
Heat heavy cream until just about boiling, being careful not to scald it. Pour over chocolate chips in a separate bowl. Mix together until smooth. Using a spoon, pour chocolate mixture over each mini bundt cake and allow to set. Add sprinkles. Melt white chocolate chips in microwave following directions. When melted, put chocolate in a piping bag or bottle and pipe lines onto each bundt cake for added decoration.
Once the cakes were ready, it was time to package them up. Using the Rubbermaid TakeAlongs, I filled them with a few of the cakes. I wrapped some twine around them a few times and then attached these tags I made that say “You have been nothing BUNDT Amazing!”.
I have these tags included as downloads, one that has an extra message underneath that reads “Merry Christmas and thank you for all that you do!” and another that I left blank for your own personalization. The downloads are at the end of the post.
Thankfully, Ibotta has made it even easier to share your own treats with family and friends because they have a $1 off any 2 Rubbermaid TakeAlongs rebate, exclusive to Walmart customers. That means you can share the love this holiday with more of your neighbors, teachers, coworkers, and friends!
