I’ve disappeared around webland for awhile and part of that is because we took a fun vacation to Southern California at the beginning of the month. It was a much needed vacation and so much fun. We stayed in a beach house and spent three days in Disneyland! Our three-year-old was in heaven seeing all of his favorites in person. Our trip inspired me to make some fun crafts for our trip, many of them found via Pinterest, but also inspired me to make my own. This includes our own little countdown to Disney blocks. Starting a month before our trip, we would change the blocks to countdown the days and then find something fun to do that was Disney inspired. That could be watching a Disney movie, playing with Disney toys, or reading a Disney book. Since our nightly routine already includes reading from our Disney storybook, completing a Disney activity was easy.
I thought I would share the Disney countdown blocks with the world! They are super easy. All you need to do is print each of the block base and the two different block pages on cardstock. Then, cut them out and score them along all of the lines, including the tabs (here’s where a scoring tool would help). Next, put your origami skills to work (although it’s really not origami, LOL) and glue the tabs on the inside of the blocks to create your cubes. They come together easily. I would use glue dots so you don’t run the risk of getting glue smeared all over the paper. Also, this has the numbers for 30 days on down and you will have to swap the blocks back and forth. If you’d like, you can embellish with buttons, ribbon, mini banners, twine… And it would make a fun little gift for a family member going on a trip too. I also included a base page that says “Disney World”. Let me know how it goes and enjoy!
