Sheriff Callie is one of our favorite cartoons! My toddler loves it. He prefers dressing up like Peck, rather than Sheriff Callie, but I know if we had a girl she would be all game for dressing up like the infamous kitty sheriff! This is a fun dress up outfit that I created as part of my Dollar Store Dress Up Series.
Supplies:
1 Brown Cowboy Vest from Dollar Tree
1 Pink Cowboy Hat from Dollar Tree
1 package shoe laces from Dollar Tree (you will use the white)
1 yard rope trim (I found mine at Joann’s)
1 brown bead (also from Joann’s)
1 Pink Bandana (found mine at Michaels)
1 yard brown faux leather
1 square yellow felt
Purple felt to go around hat middle
Pink ribbon
Hot glue
Black Iron On Vinyl
Velcro pieces, front and back
NOTE: There were some variations made to the vest and hat as I outline below. Otherwise, follow the rest of the tutorials as I explained.
Vest Tutorial:
First up, here is the tutorial for the vest. The pieces in this tutorial were for my Cowboy and Cowgirl Princess outfits. But they were all done similarly. Ignore the parts about adding the trim. Sheriff Woody didn’t have any on his vest.
Cowboy Hat:
This tutorial works for any of the cowboy hats I made, each having its own variations. Sheriff Woody’s hat is actually the exact same as this one, except it is brown. This red hat came from my Jessie hat tutorial. The hat was based off of a hat we got at Disneyland a couple of years ago that cost about $25. I made this for around $1.50. It only took about 30 minutes to complete. These hats are going to be perfect for our Toy Story birthday parties too!
Cowboy Belt:
No cowboy outfit is complete without a belt and belt buckle. This was easy to put together and can be adjustable to fit different sized children. I didn’t feel it was necessary to buy a belt buckle for my kids. They lose things far too quickly and a belt buckle would be gone within a week! This belt is perfect for the dress up bin.
Cowboy Bandana:
I honestly get tired of having to tie things over and over again (and it happens a lot in our house!), so this made it easier for me. Instead of tying the bandana, I added velcro so all I have to do is clasp the ends together. It’s so easy that my boys could do it for each other too. Plus, it stays put!
If you are planning on a trip to Disneyland or Disneyworld, you need to plan your family vacation with Get Away Today. They are THE experts in all thing Disney, they have been doing it for 25 years, and can help you create the perfect vacation for you and your family. My favorite thing about them is that they have a great Layaway Plan.
You only have to put $125 down at the time of booking and then have until 2 weeks before you travel to complete the payments. It makes these vacations so doable! We are going to Disneyland in a few months and I cannot wait to have some fun with my boys and husband!
