Dollar Store Dress Up & Studio 5 - Your Everyday Family

I am so excited to share my fun series of Dollar Store Dress Up ideas with you today! I had the chance to visit Studio 5 and share my updates to dress up items. As always, I enjoyed my time there. Updating items from the dollar store is fun and easy and will give your kiddos hours of fun and play. Here are some tips for making them:

1. Imagination is key! While walking the aisles at the dollar store, ask yourself “what could I add that would make this better?”. Learning to see things as they could be with a little creativity is key to upgrading and making boring things exciting.

2. Use your elementary art skills! You don’t need to know how to sew or drill to do this. All that’s required are some basic elementary skills like cutting, gluing, pasting, and painting.

3. Basic materials are all that’s required. I used yarn, felt, ribbon, trim, glitter, and other basic supplies on all of these projects. Some extras included tulle, paint pens, and iron-on vinyl.

4. The hot glue gun is your best friend. I didn’t use anything else to adhere the felt and other materials.

5. Finally, ask yourself if what you’re doing would get you excited when you were a child. Ask your kids for input and make it a fun project to do together.
