I really love Fourth of July decor. And this year, it’s been even more fun because I get to add foil to craft projects now thanks to the Minc machine by Heidi Swapp. The blue, red, and silver foil is perfect for patriotic decor and has added some new interest to my printables. I wasn’t lying when I mentioned I’m adding foil to everything!
The machine couldn’t be any easier to use. To make this printable, this is what I used:
The Minc machine, silver, red, and blue foil, machine pouch, and printable that was printed using a laser printer.
I layered colors on this printable. You need to put them all through the machine at the same time or the toner on the paper comes off on the pouch. First, place the printable in the pouch otherwise it’s difficult to transfer the paper to the pouch without the foil falling off. Next, I cut up small pieces of the silver foil. I placed them carefully over the top of the stars.
I then cut pieces of the blue and red foil and placed them over the areas I was foiling. You can see that a piece of the blue foil overlapped the red. That worked out okay because the overlapped area was supposed to be red and the blue didn’t adhere at all.
Put the pouch through the machine with the sealed side going first. I had my machine on the 3 heat setting. When it comes out, carefully peel back the foil. This is the fun part! It’s a fun reveal. The silver foil took a little bit of coaxing to come off.
The foil is beautiful! I can’t wait to do more with it. In fact, I have a denim banner I have been working on that I will be posting later this week. I’m telling you, this machine is amazing!
