It comes together quickly, freezes well, is lower fat than normal lasagna, and is a kid favorite.
We love our two little boys and have been wanting to add another little miracle for the past few years. We have had to suffer through the hardships of infertility due to endometriosis and adenomyosis, but we have been hopeful that another child will soon join our family. In the meantime, I have felt it important to keep my body ready and prepared for pregnancy when it does come. And that includes taking a good prenatal vitamin like Nature Made® Prenatal Multi + DHA (200mg) 150ct. softgels.
Prenatal vitamins should be a part of your daily routine six months before you start trying to get pregnant. Taken with food, a prenatal provides essential vitamins and minerals (before and during pregnancy) including Folic Acid, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Iodine, Vitamin B12, and Vitamin D3†. Did you know that Folic Acid is an important B Vitamin for Women of Childbearing Age and Pregnant Women and plays a critical role in the proper development of the baby’s nervous system?† I had no idea! And adequate folic acid in healthful diets may reduce a woman’s risk of having a child with a neural tube defect. In addition, a prenatal provides 200mg DHA which may help support fetal brain and eye development †.
When I’m at Sam’s Club, I make sure to grab a bottle of Nature Made® Prenatal Multi + DHA (200mg) 150ct. softgels. Because it comes in a 5 month supply, I know I have what I need for my body before and during pregnancy. They are guaranteed to meet high quality standards and made from carefully selected ingredients under strict manufacturing processes. All you need to do is take the easy-to-swallow soft gel once a day! Nature Made® is the #1 Pharmacist recommended vitamin and supplement brand, so you’ll know you’re getting what you need for you and your baby. For busy families, having a meal you can put together quickly that everyone will love is an important task. I find that making it a healthy meal is sometimes a little harder to do. This recipe for our family lasagna is always a home run and it’s adjustable to fit your family’s dietary needs. It’s easy to freeze so you can make it in batches to have on hand for busy nights or to take to a friend. The other benefit to it is that it can be adapted to make it more healthy and less fattening.
It just depends on the ingredients you choose to use!
There is one ingredient that may surprise you because it honestly took me by surprise too! Most lasagna recipes have a blend of cheeses, including ricotta, but this one uses sour cream. Yep, you read that right! Sour cream. It still adds the creaminess that other recipes have but without all the calories. I use low-fat sour cream for our family. In addition, you can use ground turkey instead of beef or sausage or no meat at all! This recipe is also fast because you don’t need to spend hours putting together a Bolognese sauce. I use a jar of our family favorite spaghetti sauce (or our homemade sauce if I have it on hand). I am all about making it easy! If you want to make a couple of batches to freeze, grab some foil pans while you are at Sam’s Club, after getting a jar of spaghetti sauce, and make the lasagna in the pan. Cover them with aluminum foil and pop them in the freezer to pull out and bake for a fast meal.
What have you found that helps you as you juggle family life? I’d love to hear some tips! Be sure to snag all your ingredients for the lasagna while you’re at Sam’s Club and don’t forget to grab Nature Made® Prenatal Multi + DHA (200mg) 150ct. softgels.
