The blossoms are blooming, birds are singing, and my kids are playing outside non-stop. That can only mean one thing-General Conference is coming! It always seems to arrive at the time when I really need some inspiration.
As I’ve done the past three conferences, I created something fun for my Young Women to do while enjoying Conference with their families that will also help them start or finish some of their Personal Progress experiences. And since Easter is on Conference this year, it only seemed fitting that I do something to do with Easter too.
I created this fun little Easter Egg Hunt for my girls! This is how it works. There are 12 eggs in each of their bags. I found mini eggs at Hobby Lobby-a bag of 24 for $0.99 (they were on sale for 40% off so they ended up being $0.60). It definitely fit our budget. Each one of the eggs has some questions on them that correspond to a value experience, along with a little treat. They also have “clues”, a few words that go on the fill-in-the-blank passage. The missing words are numbered and the clues have the words and corresponding numbers.
They are supposed to open one egg about every half hour or so, which means they do three eggs a session. Whoever completes the fill-in-the-blank and texts me the correct passage first, receives a special treat from me. But, they are not allowed to text me until the second session on Sunday. That way no one cheats. I also included a golden egg in one egg per girl and whoever finds that one and texts me first, also receives a small treat too. I did this so I knew who was working on it and when.
If they answer the questions on each egg, they will have started 12 value experiences for Personal Progress! I have the questions and the value the go with below for your reference. The passage for the fill-in-the-blank is the last paragraph of “The Living Christ”:
“We bear testimony, as His duly ordained Apostles— that Jesus is the Living Christ, the immortal Son of God. He is the great King Immanuel, who stands today on the right hand of His Father. He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come. God be thanked for the matchless gift of His divine Son.”
Each of them received a packet with their eggs that includes the instructions, the fill-in-the-blank page, and then two back to back journal pages for them to write on when answering the questions.
I have two downloads for you. The first is a page of the clues on their own. The second are all of the downloads-the clues and the packet.
If you have questions, leave a comment-chances are, someone else will have the same question too!
I presented this today and the girls were definitely excited about it. It’s always fun to get a treat, something just for you, and the promise of something more when they complete the work.
Here are links to the Easter eggs that I used. I’m a big fan of anything mini so the small eggs were the ones I chose. They are also easier to fit into a clear bag. I also used some cute little plastic Easter baskets another year. It’s up to you!

And here are the value experiences that go with the clues. Keep in mind, the questions don’t necessarily have them finish the experiences right there. But they will get them started and then you can follow up with them to see who completed them. Most can be finished in a couple of weeks. It will also give them an opportunity to apply what they are hearing in conference to their experiences.
