This is another project I did for my service with the young ladies in my neighborhood, a program we call Personal Progress in my church, but it can be adapted to many other things as well. I included a regular Valentine to be used for anything at the bottom of the post.
This month, our focus value is Virtue. I did that on purpose because February is the month of love. I have the girls working on a contest right now that I’ll be sharing too, but I like to have a little something for them each month to remind them to keep working. It does help to have some fun things for them to receive as reminders and the things we’ve been doing have been helping many of them get moving.
About a month and a half ago, I saw these mustache rings on Amazon for a killer deal (less than a dollar each with free shipping). Despite not understanding the draw of the mustache trend myself, I know that young girls like it, and thought it would be fun to get them and use them for something. The rings came from China so it took about 3 weeks or so to get them. If you’re in a rush, it might not work so well. The rings are a double finger ring and, since they are cheap, can turn fingers green. But I’ve heard if you put clear finger nail polish on them, it will keep them from getting green.
Here’s what I came up with! If you don’t have a mustache ring, you can definitely add your own to it and tie it to some candy or something. The saying is cheesy, but the girls always laugh about it with me so it works! I included a blank card with just a saying (the one that I used) and one with a mustache. They are 3.5″x5″ sizes so you can get 4 to a page.
