A few years ago, our family was blessed with kindness during a difficult Christmas season. We were in over our heads with bills and things were tight. Someone in our neighborhood decided to do a “12 Days of Christmas” for us, except they called the Sneaky Snowman. Each night leading up to Christmas Eve, the Sneaky Snowman would drop off treats, small toys, and little gifts for us with a unique message each night. It was so much fun to wonder what he would drop off next! We loved it and it helped make us feel special at a time when we really needed it.
In going with that same theme, I thought it would be fun to create a printable to use for friends and neighbors too. While we may not be in a position either with time or finanaces to leave gifts for 12 nights, the “Sneaky Snowman” could easily live on in a simpler way too.
This printable works perfectly with snack size boxes of Chips Ahoy!, OREO Cookies, Ritz Crackers, Double Stuf OREO Cookies, and Nutter Butter, all of which can be found easily on the way to checkout at Walmart. I grabbed a bunch when I was finished shopping in the bins in front of the checkout lines. They are so affordable too and perfect for teacher gifts, neighbor gifts, friend gifts, and as a stocking stuffers.
I chose to use Chips Ahoy!, Ritz Crackers, and OREO Cookies. This printable wraps right around it and we will be delivering these to the porches of neighbors and friends, courtesy of the Sneaky Snowman! We won’t be saying who it’s from but you could easily add your own message.
Here’s how to put them together.
Download and print the printable on regular paper. You will also need scissors, tape, twine, and any other embellishments you’d like to add. If you’re doing the Chips Ahoy!, make sure to print the larger sized printable.
Fold the wrapper along the sides and wrap it around your treat box.
Adhere it with some tape. I figured tape was easiest because it’s also easy to remove and won’t drive anyone nuts when they can’t open the box!
To dress it up, I used some red twine and wrapped it around the top a few times, tying it with a knot.
I also had some wooden gift tags in my stash and I used that to dress the box up too! It looks fun without it too.
Now all we need to do is gather up our treats and deliver them to our neighbors and friends! Our kids have so much fun being “Sneaky Snowmen”. It’s a fun activity for family night and it teaches them about serving others too.
