I really do enjoy my calling (or position I’ve been asked to fill) in my church. It’s so much fun to work with the young women and help them with their personal progress (a program that helps young women develop a relationship with God and became honorable women).
I heard from some of the girls that they were getting tired of having little trinket type things around and that it cluttered up their rooms. I’ve been trying to make sure that the things I give them can be used, eaten, or disposed of without guilt.
I happened to be at Walmart one day and found their little bags of decorative pumpkins for $0.02! Yep, that’s right, the whole bag was just $0.02. The little pumpkins had 5 to a bag so my total came to $0.10 for the whole thing. I also wanted to get a fun little treat to go with it and decided on some Little Debbie Oatmeal cookies. They weren’t as expensive as candy and the girls already get candy for doing their personal progress each week.
Anyway, I made a cute little saying and glued them to toothpicks to stick in the pumpkins. Because I LOVE my baker’s twine, I used it to wrap around the pumpkins and cookies to package them up all fun. I put them in my big basket and delivered them to my girls at church. I used the kit Turkeylicious by SuzyQ Scraps.
