These DIY Halloween Trick or Treat Bags were so fun to make! Plus, they were cheap and will be the perfect activity to do at our family Halloween party.
I used two different bags. The first batch came from Dollar Tree. They have a great selection of cute little tote bags that already are decorated. As always, I wanted to add some more flair to them so I used fabric markers I snagged at Michaels to do so. My favorite marker was the metallic silver. It really popped on everything I used it on! I also had some of the glitter fabric markers and that added a great effect too. Here are the examples of the bags I upgraded. The spider one was my favorite. I added my kids’ names too to the bottom of the bags after I took these pictures.
For the other one, it was completely customized with the fabric pens and a template I made using my Silhouette Cameo Machine and cardstock.
In addition to the fabric pens, Michaels had black and orange blank tote bags that were begging for some help.
To make this one, I found a cute template in the Silhouette store that I wanted to use. The “Mummy’s Little Monster” was really cute. I cut it out using some cardstock and then used the negative part of it as my template (so I could color in the blank space with the fabric markers). It was also quick and easy.
These were so fun to do and I have already picked out some cute Halloween shapes in the Silhouette store to use at our party. It’s the perfect favor because everyone can stash their candy and goodies in their bags and reuse them next year too!
Oh, and the cute little scarecrows and straw were also a find from Michaels. They were just a few dollars each and look great on the porch. Plus, they work for Thanksgiving too.
