I have searched for the best icing to decorate my sugar cookies with for ages. I’m still not used to using Royal Icing and it takes too much time for me, I don’t like the taste of frosting from the grocery store, and I wanted something that tasted like it came from a bakery. Plus, I hate it when the frosting gets stuck everywhere when taking the cookies to a party.
I finally happened upon the perfect sugar cookie icing a few years ago and I’ve never looked back. It’s not too sweet, it’s easy to make, and it hardens to a nice glaze, just like the sugar cookies at a bakery.
It’s a win-win in my opinion! And it pairs fabulously with our family favorite lemon sugar cookies.
